5) Don’t Expect Mild Meals
We’re talking about the spice levels. Mexico is known for their love and generous use of chili peppers in many of their dishes. The variety of chili peppers in Mexico far outweighs what we’re used to in the United States. Chili peppers can make or break a meal. If left out, the lack of spiciness makes the dish bland and less delicious. However, if it’s overdone, it could have side effects later. If spicy food isn’t your thing, don’t worry. There are plenty of milder options or ways to turn down the heat on the spicier dishes. Just ask! Our suggestion? Don’t shy away from the chili peppers, just go easy on them until you know how much punch each one is packing. Tip: the smaller the chili pepper, the spicier it is!
