2) Don’t Drink the Tap Water

Perhaps this is obvious; but we’ll say it anyway. If you drink the tap water in Mexico you will likely get sick from the bacteria of the unfiltered water. This sickness is called “Montezuma’s Revenge.” Or simply put, diarrhea. This is very easily avoidable. Stick to bottled water, which is available for cheap purchase everywhere. Just make sure the bottle is sealed and hasn’t been opened and refilled with unfiltered water. It’s also a good idea to use bottled water to brush your teeth. There’s no point to risk ruining your vacation, even over a trivial amount of tap water. The same applies to the ice at the bottom of your cocktail. It’s likely made from unpurified water. Crunching the ice or drinking the melted ice water could be just as bad at drinking straight from the tap.
