4) Have a Budget
The main reason people choose to take a staycation is to save money. For many, a staycation is the perfect way to enjoy some quality time as a family without spending a fortune. That’s not to say you can get away without spending any money.
You’ll need some kind of budget to make sure your staycation is memorable and a change from the usual way you and your family spend their time. Have your kids always wanted to try to dry ski slope in the next town or has your wife been coveting a day trip to the spa for months? Now is the time to indulge in some of these simple pleasures. Remember all of the money you’re saving on flights, car rental, and hotel rates. Spend a portion of that on fun activities, expensive restaurants you usually avoid, and all the little treats you’re in the habit of denying yourself.
