5) Waffle House Museum
Take a step back in time when visiting the Waffle House Museum in Decatur, Georgia. The museum is the actual site of the first Waffle House, which opened in 1955. The neighborhood of Avondale Estates is where the actual Waffle House restaurant sits. The restaurant is designed to resemble what it looked like in the 50’s, complete with a ton of Waffle House memorabilia collected from more than 60 years ago. This may not be something that would be of interest to everybody but if you are a fan of the Waffle House, you are sure to get a kick out of a visit to the first one. Well, in our opinion, even if you do not like the Waffle House, you would likely still enjoy the nostalgia of the 1950’s represented at the museum.
