9) Electronics

Most airplanes are now equipped with personal entertainment screens for each passenger. However, if you’re flying with a budget airline, you may not have this luxury. It’s a long haul if you’ve got nothing to listen to, read, or watch. Upload movies, podcasts, eBooks, and music to your phone or tablet so you’ve got a back-up in the event your airline doesn’t provide this service. A device stocked with entertainment is also a life-saver on long bus, train, or ferry trips where you won’t likely have much else to do. A small, light-weight power bank is also a good idea; running out of battery during a 6-hour bus journey is no fun. Lastly, ensure you have a plug adapter/converter so you can charge your devices in the country/countries you’ll be visiting. Nothing’s worse than arriving to your destination only to find you can’t charge your electronics. Be prepared.
