4) Angel Falls, Venezuela
Angel Falls is one of the best known waterfalls on this list. It is located just over 200 miles from its South American sister Kaieteur Falls. The world’s largest waterfall, Angel Falls is an epic spectacle of water that crashes down 3,212 feet from the River Kerep in the Canaima National Park in the Gran Sabana area of Venezuela. Angel Falls is actually a UNESCO world heritage site. It is one of the world’s most famous waterfalls partially due to its dramatic height and partially due to its unique visage that streams down the centre of an expanse of flat-topped mountainsides. The best time to see Angel Falls is between June and December when water levels are at their highest and the waterfall is at its most thunderous.
