8) Nebraska

Twenty million people visit Nebraska each year. This sounds like a lot for a state most people don’t know much about. Located smack dab in the middle of the country, Nebraska’s biggest claim to fame is its collegiate sports teams. Even if you’re not a big sports fans, there’s no denying the electricity radiating from Memorial Bowl on the University of Nebraska campus. Checking out a college football game here is definitely a worthwhile experience. Nebraska is also unique because of its diverse terrain. Half farm country with prairies and plains, half striking rock formations and desert ‘scape. You may be surprised to learn that Nebraska also boasts acres of beautiful gardens, including Lauritzen Gardens and the historical Sunken Gardens. Additionally, it’s a good place for family vacations. Kids will enjoy the Lincoln Children’s Museum and zoo and parents will appreciate the variety of culture and history museums.
