6) Tanzania
Tanzania is an excellent destination for thrill seekers on the African continent. Serengeti National Park is home to some of the most incredible creatures on the planet. Although black rhinos are scarce, there is still a chance to see the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant and buffalo rounds out the group. There are also plentiful safari options for those that want to immerse themselves in the landscape for days. Mt. Kilimanjaro is the other big draw. As the tallest mountain in Africa it is a huge draw for the combination of the challenge it presents while simultaneously not requiring climbers to be expert level. While being reasonably in shape increases the odds of summiting, altitude sickness is a bigger deterrent to success than the physical climb. Be ready for several nights in a tent without showers.
