In terms of countries with the best scenery, Switzerland is certainly a strong contender. The country has towering mountains, vast glacial structures, and roaring waterfalls. The Aletsch Glacier, which is Europe’s longest, is located in Switzerland. It consists of over 27 billion tonnes of ice and is a truly impressive sight. The country is also home to a valley carved out by a glacier, and you can see this in the valley’s shape. There are also several waterfalls in the valley. On the topic of waterfalls, Switzerland can boast of having Europe’s largest—the Rhine Falls. These magnificent falls are astounding to watch as huge quantities of water pour and roil over them. The country also has scenic lakes including Oeschinensee, which is serene with turquoise waters, and Lake Lucerne, which has a marvelous cliff-filled backdrop. One of the most famous mountains in Europe, Eiger, is also found in this country, and its snow-covered peak is a marvel to observe.
