5) Sea World San Diego
Sea World San Diego was founded in 1964 and was initially a marine zoological park situated along the shore of Mission Bay. Within the first year of opening the park attracted up to 400,000 visitors. Investors took notice of the parks growing attention and in 1968 when Sea World offered stock publicly, money poured in, allowing for a massive expansion. Being the original Sea World is reason enough to want to visit the San Diego location.
Visitors quickly get an idea of what they can expect from the moment the approach through Sea Worlds interactive Explorer’s Reef. Visitors enter underneath a wave sculpture, which allows them to come in close contact with the undersea world. They can touch and see the creatures of the sea, up close, while interacting with them. A great start to the rest of your adventures at Sea World San Diego.
