9) Sweden
Known for being generous with foreign aid and regarded as a global peacekeeper, Sweden has a history of taking the least confrontational stance on international issues. The Nordic country is also known to be open to negotiations when conflict does arise. In 2014, Sweden celebrated 200 years of peace; they have not been involved in a war since 1814! The only thing holding Sweden down? They remain a top international exporter of arms. Swedes also appear to be very trusting of their fellow countrymen. A constitutional law declares a “right of public access”, meaning there is essentially nowhere that’s off limits in the great outdoors. Visitors and residents are free to explore, camp, hike and enjoy the country as they wish, including private property. A diverse landscape of mile-long beaches, rolling hills, vast wilderness, mountain ranges, lakes, and rivers keeps even the most insatiable roamers interested.
