10) Saint Lucia
Deep in the southeast of the Caribbean Sea, Saint Lucia is consistently described as the region’s lushest destination. Whether you’re looking for an active vacation or a lazy, relaxing one, St. Lucia caters to both. This island is most famous for its twin volcanic plugs (large peaks made from volcanic materials), Gros Piton and Petit Piton. These soaring pinnacles both reach well over 2,000 feet and are the symbol of St. Lucia. Travelers in good physical condition can hike to the top and experience majestic panoramic views. Some folks may prefer to take a boat out on to view The Pitons from the water instead of the strenuous hike. St. Lucia also boasts the world’s only drive-in volcano and sulfur springs. La Soufiere is a once in a lifetime experience. Of course, to do all this you’ll have to pull yourself away from the sprawling white-sand beaches and tropical waters.
