4) Kaua’i, Hawaii
It’s no surprise that this tropical island makes the list. Instead of heading to the ever-popular hotspot of Honolulu (like many do), spring for a little more seclusion and privacy on the shores of Kaua’i. Laying off the northwest shore of Oahu, this pristine island boasts stellar sunsets and gorgeous nature reserves. You can enjoy warm weather year-round here, so visit in the winter and escape the cold and snow at home! Waimea Canyon is a must visit, and can be viewed leisurely by car. If you’re up for breaking a sweat, there are several trails that head straight into the center of the gorge. The Na Pali coast is a 15-mile stretch of perfectly picturesque coastline and can be hiked using the Kalalau Trail. If you’re not physically up for that, drive, boat, or helicopter your way along the impressively steep cliffs.
