1) San Diego, California
Known for its year-round mild climate, San Diego has plenty of things to do. If you’re looking to escape the cold, head to this Southern California city. Here, you can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the beach. Even if the water is a bit cool for swimming, there are plenty of things to do. Whale watching is a fun way to spend an afternoon. The Cabrillo National Monument in Point Loma is dedicated to whales. Winter is their migration season south, so if you’ve never seen them in the wild, here’s your chance. If you’re into surfing, or just enjoy watching, head to La Jolla. It’s known for its great waves and surfing scene. San Diego is also renowned for its zoo. You can purchase package tickets which include the zoo, museums, and parks. One benefit of visiting in winter is airfare and accommodations are cheaper than in summer months.
