4) Safety Harbor Florida, The Bowling Ball House
Also known as Whimsyland, it was started in 1985 by childhood friends Todd Ramquist and Kiaralinda. It all began when they were at a local flea market when they saw a sign that read “10 Free Bowling Balls Per Person.” They grabbed twenty, called a few friends, and went home with 60 bowling balls. They painted each ball with unique art and lined their property with them. While they traveled to different art shows they recruited other artists to create bowling ball art. Over 80 artists took part in making one of the most strange and unique attractions in Florida. Aside from boundless bowling ball art, the Whimsey house is full of creations of all different styles that spill out of the house, around the outside and around the property.
