It’s hard to go wrong with the Philippines when you’ve got over 7,000 islands to choose from. With this many options, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. A good starting point is Boracay. First, you’ll need to get to Manila, the capital city and international flight hub. Round trip flights from New York start around $600. Boracay is another hour flight from Manila for less than $50 round trip. Upon arrival, visitors have multiple white-powder beaches to choose from. Check out eastern facing Bulabog Beach for parasailing, White Beach for calm, shallow waters, and Ariel’s Point for some cliff diving action. When the sun goes down, all the beach bars turn into one giant outdoor club with music and drinks all night. Accommodations start at $15/night. Budget meals range from $2-$10, and bottled beer is $1 a pop. You can even splurge on a 1-hour massage for under $10!
