In Poland, Americans are generally looked upon positively. In Pew Research Center’s study, 73% percent of the Polish people surveyed said they had a favorable view of Americans. Before you travel to Poland, it’s a good idea to learn a few simple words and phrases. People in Poland will generally be happy to see you making an effort to learn their language, and they’ll be more willing to help you out or chat with you. If you make friends and end up getting invited to dinner at someone’s house, be sure to come very hungry, and bring a gift, such as flowers. Polish people love having guests, and they’ll often bring out course after course of food. As you travel around Poland, you’ll encounter many people who are excited to have you in their country and who want to show you everything Poland has to offer.
