6) Food Poisoning
When you are traveling far from home, you may have opportunities to try new things. Among them, you may be exposed to new types of cuisine. Different parts of the world have different staple foods and spices. Therefore, it is possible that some of what you eat may not agree with your stomach and gut. This can cause some gastrointestinal issues. Additionally, some parts of the world do not have the best water filtration systems. Therefore, drinking tap water may actually cause you to get sick. Whether your body isn’t used to a food or you actually get poisoning from bacterial toxins, you’ll feel ill. You may then be unable to partake in many physically-involved activities. This can prevent you from making the most of your vacation. Be sure to find out beforehand what kinds of food and drink preparation you can expect at your destination.
