2) Nashville, Tennessee
The Country Music mecca of downtown Nashville is a great option if it is within walking distance, otherwise the limited public transportation may have you renting a car. Spring and Fall are considered the best times to visit with reasonable prices and good weather. Summer can get pricey thanks to major events like the CMA Music Festival. Winter is the cheapest season. Despite being in the south, Nashville isn’t just about fried food. The culinary scene has exploded providing pricier options alongside places with happy hour specials and affordable BBQ. Centennial Park also hosts regular free concerts in warmer months. The famous Bluebird Cafe often has performances with no cover charge, and the food and drink minimum is a reasonable $10. The Honky Tonk Highway is another place to catch free music shows. There are also several museums and music events that are open to the public free of charge.
