Probably one of the most well-known places on this list, 6th Street is the perfect place for someone who wants to grab a cocktail or two and enjoy the nightlife of Texas. No matter what your style, you will likely find a bar that fits it just by strolling for a couple of minutes. Dives, biker bars, dance clubs, hipster hangouts, 80’s inspired discos, you can find them all nestled on this one street. Anyone who plans on stopping through Austin should have at least one drink on this historic street. Here’s a local tip, Sunday’s may not be the busiest days to visit but the drink specials are worth it. Holidays like Halloween have parties spilling from the bars into the streets but don’t be surprised if you see people in costumes on a Saturday night in July.
