Waterloo is a small city in Southern Ontario. The city takes its name from its Belgian counterpart, which ended Napoleon’s reign of atrocities and oppression. Very much like the original Waterloo, this city in Ontario is remarkably peaceful. Crime is extremely rare; seemingly non-existent if you’re coming from the United States. The city has five main parks to meet the outdoor needs of its sports-loving population of 100,000. If you’re not a park-lover, the city has a large number of entertainment areas you can go to. And if you’re a studious, career-focused individual, Waterloo has attractions for you, too. The city is home to some of the biggest IT giants in the world, including Blackberry, Kik Messenger, Maplesoft, MKS, Open Text Corporation, Sandvine, and Dasla. Think of Waterloo as Canada’s Silicon Valley, and if you like being surrounded by savants and geniuses, you should seriously think of moving to Waterloo, especially because the real estate prices here are nowhere even near those in the Silicon Valley.
