4) Following Trends
Do you always follow the trend or your friends’ suggestions regarding where to go on holiday? Stop it! Go against the grain when it comes to choosing your vacation location. Get off the beaten path altogether and pick unpopular destinations that still remain relatively undiscovered (and therefore unspoiled) by the masses. For example, instead of spring breaking down in Cancun like everyone else, head down to Panama or Nicaragua for uncrowded beaches and, most importantly, cheaper prices. Or why not check out some lesser known eastern European countries like Serbia, Monte Negro, Turkey, Georgia, or Ukraine? These types of places are always less expensive than built up tourist hot-spots because they haven’t totally craved out their niche yet. The bonus? Locals will likely be friendlier and more welcoming because they don’t have to deal with hordes of tourists on a daily basis!
