2) Winery at Bull Run
Within 15 minutes of leaving Dulles airport, you can find yourself in one of the most picturesque places in Virginia—and get to sample some of the best wines the state has to offer. Located in Centreville, the winery dates back to the 1800’s. Although a new wine tasting building was finished in 2012, the winery still has an original feel to it, with the architecture reflecting the style of the historical buildings that surround the vineyard. The winery is adjacent to Manassas National Battlefield Park, which, with over 5000 acres, offers you tremendous views of the Virginia countryside as it would have been in colonial times. Various live events are held seasonally, and you can check with the winery for the schedules for opening times and special activities. This is a place where you can get an education about the country’s history, and enjoy a good glass of wine at the same time.
