5) Triphammer Falls

Sure, you’ve heard of Niagara Falls, but New York has many waterfalls, in fact. Triphammer Falls, located in Cornell University, Ithaca, is one of the most breathtaking; and well worth the trip to see. The university was developed by Ezra Cornell, who was enchanted by the natural splendor of the Fall River and its gorge. Triphammer Falls is one of several in the area, but its central location makes it an easy spot to reach for tourists. The best views can be seen from the East Avenue Bridge or Triphammer Foot Bridge. Immediately next to the Falls is the Hydraulic Lab. The building, which was used for scientific purposes, used materials so similar to the surrounding stones that it looks like it was built out of the gorge itself. Tourists from around the world visit this little secret spot to revel in its exquisite beauty.
