Now here is a place that is one of New York’s truly magical destinations. Situated in Rochester, the museum is one of a few in the world that is entirely devoted to play, toys and all things fun and has the largest collection of toys and artifacts in the world. The idea for the museum came from Margaret Woodbury Strong, whose own personal collection of toys and toy memorabilia served as the starting point for the hundreds of thousands items now housed under its roof. The museum has an unimaginable number of things to do, and it has been modernized to include exhibits involving video games, television shows and comic books. Visitors can immerse themselves in Sesame Street, eGameRevolution and the ever-delightful Dancing Wings Butterfly Garden, which boasts the largest number of butterflies for an indoor garden in New York.
