5) Hall of Heroes
We live in uncertain times. We are fighting a war with no end in sight, we survived a financial meltdown while seemingly always on the brink of another and sometimes we feel the world may be falling into chaos all around us. One small solace we have is getting lost in the exploits of our fictional heroes. Some of the most popular are those superheroes that appeal to people of all ages. In Elkhart, Indiana, there is a museum dedicated to these modern mythological icons.Ā Costumed heroes have been around for over seventy-five years now and their tales have brought generations together and continue to give us paragons of the values we hold most dear. The Hall of Heroes is a museum dedicated to comics and superheroes. Visitors can see thousands of action figures and other bits of memorabilia, like movie props and costumes from TV and film. The outer faƧade of the museum was fashioned after the Hall of Justice from the classic cartoon, Super Friends. There is also a replica of the Adam West era Bat Cave, complete with a firemanās pole visitors can use to slide down to the lower floor.
