8) Marble Mountain
Marble Mountain may not be the biggest mountain in Canada or the most famous but it is blessed with the advantage of having the highest snowfall in eastern North America. Located in the town of Steady Brook on the west coast of Newfoundland in the Long Range Mountains, Marble Mountain is the best skiing spot in eastern Canada. One of the key venues for the 1999 Canada Winter Games, Marble Mountain enjoys an average of over 200 feet annually. With 39 runs, the longest of which is 4.5km and a total skiable area of 225 acres, Marble Mountain also boasts a new high-speed detachable quad lift. The area around the Marble Mountain ski resort is home to a number of delightful restaurants and shops and the resort in general is said to be very affordable.
