6) Sun Peaks, Kamloops
Sun Peaks, located near Kamloops in British Columbia is the third largest ski area in British Columbia with over 3,600 acres of skiable terrain. Just 50 km from the cool town of Kamloops, Sun Peaks is popular with Canada’s most dedicated skiers and those with families for its mixture of alpine and Nordic skiing. The ski area comprises three mountains: Tod Mountain, Sundance Mountain, and Mt. Morrisey. The summit of Sun Peaks’ highest ski area is at an elevation of over 6,800 feet and the whole area enjoys an average snowfall of 5.6m per year. 124 trails are available and can be explored solo or as part of a guided mountain tour with a guide or none other than Olympic ski champion Nancy Greene. With opportunities to snowboard, snowshoe, tube and take a ride on a snowmobile, Sun Peaks ticks all the boxes.
