11) Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Jackson Hole is a stunning vacation spot for outdoor enthusiasts. It is convenient to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park, for which senior passes can be purchased. Skiers will likely want to head for Jackson Hole Mountain Resort or Grand Targhee Resort. Wildlife lovers will want to check out the National Elk Refuge (results are better in the winter) and the National Museum of Wildlife Art. The Jackson Hole Playhouse is a popular, but small, dinner theater in the downtown area. The Jackson Hole Historical Society Museum offers insight into the town’s wild west history. Finally, don’t miss the Granite Hot Springs. Besides the views of the Bridger-Teton National Forest from the thermal pool, the area offers nearby hiking, snowshoeing, and rafting. The road up is a bit rocky, but visitors say it’s worth it.
