4) River Cruise
According to an article posted by CBS News, river cruises are quite popular with retirees. Central Europe’s Danube and Rhine Rivers are two of the biggest draws. Since the itinerary is planned for you, the vacation preparation is less stressful and you can see multiple places, spend the days exploring on land, and relax on the boat in the evenings. Some of the itineraries are supplemented by bus trips to cities a little further from port. The Danube flows through ten countries, and the tours may include time in Munich, Budapest, Bucharest, Berlin, and Amsterdam for starters. A trip along the Rhine can include stops in Paris, Prague, Bruges, or Barcelona. Fine dinners and local brews are typically served on board and guests can enjoy the views on deck as they move from one locale to the next.
