9) Think Minimalist
Another key to packing light is to become minimalist in your approach. Stick to the basics and don’t overindulge in your selections. Keep in mind, it’s just a trip. You’re not moving there! You’ll also want to reserve space for something such as a souvenir on the back end. After all, you don’t want to end up having to purchase another bag on your trip. That would defeat the purpose of packing light in the first place. Make it creative and fun. Put items together for your trip that you may not use if you had all your choices with you. It’s amazing what a little creativity can accomplish – and may just create a new look in the process. Don’t pack books. Use your phone or other smart device and download any apps you may need for your trip. If you like to read while flying, consider an app like Kindle.
