There are many advantages to packing light. Ease of airport travel, no lost luggage and less to carry are some of the benefits. Planning is an essential key to not bringing more than you need. Organization is also key. It takes some discipline as well. This is especially true if you are someone who is generally indecisive and usually pack everything but the kitchen sink! With a little help, you can learn to travel light and, most likely, will enjoy your trip more if you only take what you will use. Here are 10 ways you can enjoy your trip more by packing light.

1) Mix and Match Your Wardrobe

It easy to pick out too many clothing items while packing. After all, for some people it may be difficult to decide at once what you’re going to wear for the next several days to a week or more. A great tip is to coordinate clothing items that you can mix and match to make various looks by utilizing items in more than one way. For example, you could pack one pair of your favorite jeans. Then bring various tops, scarves and small accessories to change the way that outfit looks. If you color coordinate all your items, you can wear them in any combination. Also, use thin layered clothing items that will take up less space. That’s another way to make most of the space in your bag.
