10 Tips for Packing Light

5) Everything is Smaller

You don’t need a full shampoo bottle, toothpaste, lotions, soaps etc. for the small amount of time you’re traveling vs. what you may keep at home. If you have favorite products you’d like to take, make smaller versions of them. Most pharmacies and variety stores sell empty travel containers that you can fill with your favorite toiletries. Be sure to check the limit on the fluid sizes allowable in your carry on. If you’re traveling where liquids may be banned during travel, consider buying some of your basic travel sized toiletries upon arrival. If your plan was to buy them and pack them, then why buy them before you leave? You can save time and space by purchasing those simple travel size items upon arrival at your destination and simply tossing what little, if any, is left before you leave. That saves the hassle of packing and carrying them at all.
