How could we neglect to include a place with a name like Pleasant Hills? Located in Allegheny County, Pleasant Hills is a suburb of Pittsburgh and has a population of around 8,000 people. Thanks to the efforts of the West Jefferson school district, Pleasant Hills is known to have a first-rate education system with all of the schools achieving impressive results and a high school graduation rate that is 11 percent higher than the state average. Crime is low in Pleasant Hills, almost 40 percent lower than the Pennsylvania state average and the town has a number of great amenities to keep its citizens nourished, informed and entertained. Surprisingly all of these great qualities are yet to drive Pleasant Hills’ cost of living through the roof. Average home values are slightly lower than the Pennsylvanian average while median income is around 20 percent higher making Pleasant Hills a very affordable place to be.
