6) Willow Grove
Willow Grove is a good all-rounder located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania with a population of around 15,000 people. Willow Groveās history is long and colorful. Established by William Penn in the early 18th century, Willow Grove quickly became a vacation spot for Philadephians, thanks to local railroad and trolley expansion. Willow Grove Park, a popular amusement park, sprung up in the late 19th century and was in use until the 1970s. Willow Grove was also once the āMusic Capital of Americaā, packed with orchestras and bands making a living entertaining locals and tourists. Nowadays, Willow Grove is known for having a wonderful local school district, low crime rates ā 43 percent lower than the Pennsylvania average ā and a low unemployment rate. The weather is a slight let down an average of 73 degrees F in the summer but the cost of living is reasonable at just 20 percent higher than the state average.
