Named after the famous town in Ireland, Waterford is located along coastal Connecticut. Waterford Beach Park offers visitors a natural landscape of unmodified beaches and tidal marsh with stunning views of the Long Island Sound. It’s also home to the Waterford Speedbowl – a 3/8-mile oval automotive race track. Here you can join relax with a beer in the spectator stands while watching your favorite NASCAR racers zoom by. If racing isn’t in your wheelhouse, head to the two-time Tony Award winning Eugene O’Neill Theater Center and enjoy a show. The Connecticut College Arboretum is another spot you won’t want to miss. Grab a map and take the self-guided walking tour. There’s an abundance of beautiful plants and wildlife to behold. Harness Memorial State Park is another great local for walking and taking in the sites of the beautiful grounds and views of the Long Island Sound.
