7) Cincinnati Observatory
In the picturesque neighborhood of Mt. Lookout sits the Cincinnati Observatory. The observatory was originally built in 1843 in Mt. Adams however, this location soon became too crowded and no longer provided clear views for which to gaze into the universe. Therefore, in 1873, the observatory was moved to its current location and in 1980, the facility received a bit of a face-lift, which included refurbished telescopes. Today, the observatory focuses more on education rather than research. Visitors are able to enjoy viewings through historical telescopes and learn more about the purpose of the observatory. The Cincinnati Observatory has the oldest telescope in the country.
