2) American Sign Museum
Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, the American Sign Museum preserves and displays a variety of signs which date back to the nineteenth century. In addition to the actual signs, the equipment used to create the signs are also on display. The museum opened its doors in 2005 and since then. there are now over 200 signs and more than 3,500 items cataloged at the American Sign Museum. Some people visit annually to see which new signs have been added to the collection and to see if they actually recognize some of the signs on display. One of the signs you will see on display is the Frisch’s Big Boy restaurant statue with a slingshot in the back pocket. This is significant since the current boy in pictures no longer has the slingshot in his back pocket. You probably didn’t know a single-arch McDonald’s sign existed, but it did, way back in 1963. This sign was acquired by the museum in 2008 and is now a part of their collection.
