9) The Garret Antiques
Antique shops are always interesting. It’s like going to a museum, where everything is for sale. Most of these shops are in old storefronts or a house converted into a store. The Garret is one of those where the building itself is as interesting as what is inside. The Garret is an old home, made from sturdy limestone. It has the general appearance of a classic house, but looks almost like a small, suburban gothic castle of sorts. Inside, there is a vast assortment of antiques and curios packed throughout. Old chairs, record players and Victrolas, vintage household items and bits of furniture like shelves or cabinets can all be found. There are even a few vintage novelties that fall on the naughty side. More stuff is stored in buildings behind the Garret that aren’t available for the public to peruse. Still, it never hurts to ask and see if a specific item might be hidden back there.
