6) Yosemite National Park
If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure, Yosemite National Park is the perfect spot for you. This huge national park is full of towering cliffs, waterfalls, and lakes. One of the most popular hikes in Yosemite is the Half Dome Hike. On this challenging, 17-mile roundtrip hike, you’ll climb up 4,800 feet. To reach the Half Dome summit, you’ll have to climb a series of cables. Once there, you’ll get amazing views of the park. If you’d like to do this iconic hike, you will have to get a permit, which are disturbed via a lottery system. If you don’t end up getting a permit for Half Dome, there are still plenty of other great hikes that you can do in Yosemite. This includes the beautiful, moderately challenging Cathedral Lakes Trail and the short but stunning Glacier Point trail.
