5) Gold Bluffs Beach, Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park
You wouldn’t think you’d be able to see the beautiful Californian coastline and magnificent Californian Redwoods in one place but at the Prairie Creek Redwood State Park you can do just that. Of course Redwoods don’t grow directly on the beach but it’s just a short hike from the golden sands of Gold Bluffs Beach to the great Redwoods Park. Gold Bluffs Beach is also one of many, many stops of the Californian Coastal Trail that points you in the direction of miles of little-known coastline complete with secret waterfalls and hidden coves. Located near Orick, California, Gold Bluff also has an extremely popular campground that is accessible all year round.
