3) Nevada
Most people think of the Las Vegas strip when they picture a trip to Nevada. It’s true, Vegas is a hopping popular hot spot, which saw over 39 million visitors in 2017. There’s more to this desert oasis than Vegas, however. Lake Tahoe and Reno, straddling the northwestern border, are popular destinations. Here, the bluest of blue waters meet the greenest of green forests. There’s no shortage of gambling, water sports, winter sports, and just about every activity imaginable. For the adventurous who’d rather stay a bit more off the beaten path, Death Valley National Park offers some out of this world salt flats, desert canyons and miles of trails. Red Rock Canyon National Park is another nature lover’s paradise. If you like hiking, rock climbing, or just going for a scenic drive, the views will take your breath away!
