5) Use Identification to Receive a Travel Discount

It is important for a person to always carry along identification that will verify their age. In most cases, a senior’s driver’s license or their passport will be enough to verify their age. However, there are other forms of identification that may also be accepted and that may be good to keep on hand. Some of these include a copy of the person’s birth certificate, Medicare identification card or a resident alien card. If the senior is a member of some type of organization such as AAA or AARP, that provides travel discounts, they should be sure to carry along these membership cards, as well. The one time the card is forgotten could be when they have to prove their membership to receive the senior discount that is being offered. In some cases, the discounts can reach up to 50 percent, therefore, these forms of identification are ones that should be kept in tow at all times.
