8) Clarksdale, MS
The town of Clarksdale, Mississippi is nicknamed “the Birthplace of Blues.” Many famous blues musicians have played or lived in Clarksdale, including Muddy Waters, Robert Johnson, and Son House. Today, you can learn all about the history of the blues in Clarksdale at the Delta Blues Museum. This museum has a wax figure of Muddy Waters, and it also has videos, photographs, and memorabilia on display. To learn even more about the history of the blues and rock n’ roll in America, check out the Rock ‘n’ Roll Blues Heritage Museum. This museum follows the evolution of rock and the blues from the 1920s up to the 1970s. After looking through the museums, take a stroll on the Walk of Fame in downtown Clarksdale.
