The town of Sleepy Hollow was made famous in Washington Irving’s 1820 story “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.” This historic town is still popular with visitors today, and many flock to the town in October to visit the Sleepy Hollow Cemetery. There are also many other interesting sites to see in Sleepy Hollow all-year round. This includes the Sleepy Hollow Lighthouse, which is located on the Hudson River. You can also visit the Phillipsburg Manor, which was built in the 1700s and is open for tours in the summer and fall. Phillipsburg Manor also hosts Sleepy Hollow’s most famous Halloween event, the Horseman’s Hallow. Every weekend night in October, Phillipsburg Manor is transformed into a spooky haunted house that’s filled with vampires, undead soldiers, ghosts, and witches.
