9) Maine
Maine might seem like a stressful place because of the harsh weather people are exposed to but according to the Motovo Blog, it appears that states with warmer weather are more stressed. Since weather doesn’t place a role in stress level the question that people ask is “What factors impact the average person’s stress level?” One factor may be not having insurance. Maine has one of the lowest percentages of people with no insurance at 11.4%. A study titles” Peace of Mind: Health Insurance Reduces Stress and Cortisol Levels- a Randomized Experiment in Kenya” has found that people who have insurance are less likely to experience self-induced stress. It is thought that this reduced stress level is caused by a “peace of mind” effect.
