8) Big Bend National Park, Texas
The gorgeous Big Bend National Park is located in Southwest Texas. This national park is home to vast deserts, amazing rock formations, and beautiful mountains. If you want to spend a few nights in this isolated park, there are a few different campgrounds available. The largest campground is the Rio Grande Village. This campground is adjacent to the famous Rio Grande, and it has 100 sites available. If you want to hike on some of Big Bend’s most popular trails, head to the Chisos Basin Campground. This 60-site campground is surrounded by beautiful tall and rocky cliffs, and it’s close to many great hiking trails. If you’re looking for a quieter campground, check out the 24-site Cottonwood Campground. This peaceful campground is located close to the stunning Santa Elena Canyon.
