4) Pine Grove Furnace State Park, Pennsylvania
The 696-acre Pine Grove Furnace State Park is located on the northern tip of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The beautiful park has two mountain lakes where you can swim during the summer. You can also take your boat out on lovely Laurel Lake. There are also hiking trails that are perfect for every skill level. Plus, you can bring your bike and take a ride down a two-mile paved trail. If you’d like to spend a few nights in this park, head to the Pine Grove Furnace State Park Campground. The large campground has 70 tent and trailer sites, and it’s open from late March to mid-December. If you need to buy supplies, there’s a seasonal camp-store located a quarter of a mile from the campsite. Pets are allowed at this campsite, but you’ll have to pay a small fee for them.
