8) Christ of the Abyss in Key Largo, Florida
Christ of the Abyss may be a little more hidden than some of the other places that have been highlighted in this article. In order to see this beautiful site, you are going to have to get into the water with either SCUBA gear or a snorkel. The statue is made of bronze and was sunk off the coast of Key Largo in 1965. This stature is actually a replica of “Il Christo Degli Abissi”, which can be found in the Mediterranean off the coast of Genoa Italy. The beauty of this statue only seems to grow with time. It’s no wonder this is one of the top dive spots in the world.
