4) Fallingwater in Stewart Township, Pennslyvania
Frank Lloyd Write is was a famous architect and writer who’s famed works include the Guggenheim Museum in New York City. The American Institute of Architects named him theĀ “the greatest American architect of all time”. His most beautiful work may be this home built over a waterfall in a remote part of Pennsylvania. The waterfall appears to flow through the house, creating an illusion that is is actually part of the waterfall. Though it was built for only $155,000 in 1935, it is currently a priceless piece of American ingenuity and considered a National Historic Landmark.
